Uber Scam Alert
I booked an Uber and immediately received messages claiming to be from “Sam from support” The driver asked me to share my email address and the 4-digit code sent to my phone to “confirm the trip.”
I recognised this scam instantly.
- What they’re doing: If you share that code, the driver takes over your account, resets your password, and books fake rides to steal your money.
- What I did: I confronted him, cancelled the ride, and reported it to Uber Safety as cyber crime.
Protect yourself: Never share verification codes. Never share your email through driver messages. Cancel and report immediately.
My Recommendation
