This fake H&M 64% OFF text message is fooling people. Here how I spotted it.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I receive a text message at 19:19<\/strong> that nearly caught me off guard, and I want to share what I found before anyone else falls for it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The message came from an unknown sender<\/strong> and appear to be from H&M<\/strong>, the popular fashion retailer. It said “We are offer you an exclusive 64% OFF coupon just for you, valid until 1 Feb 2026 https:\/\/ww2.hm.com\/index.htmlhnorturl.at\/uBICn and applycode hmn-644 to enjoy your savirgs! savings!”<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The text offer a massive 64% discount<\/strong> and direct me to what look like an H&M website to use code hmn-644<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I almost click. Then I look closer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The URL Is Completely Broken<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Look at this mess: https:\/\/ww2.hm.com\/index.htmlhnorturl.at\/uBICn<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This URL is malformed and broken<\/strong>. It appears two different links got merged together<\/strong> ]”ww2.hm.com\/index.html” and “hnorturl.at\/uBICn” are smashed into one. The scammer made a copy-paste error. Also notice it says “ww2”<\/strong> instead of “www2”<\/strong> \u2013 missing a “w”. No legitimate company sends links this broken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Word “Applycode” Is Written Wrong<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The message says “applycode hmn-644”<\/strong> the words “apply”<\/strong> and “code”<\/strong> are merged into one word<\/strong>. Proper English would be “apply code” with a space. This grammatical error shows the message was hastily written or generate by a bot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Savirgs” Is Not a Word<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

They tried to write “saving”<\/strong> but misspelled it, then wrote “saving” again on a separate line. The result is gibberish follow by the correct word. No professional marketing team makes errors this obvious.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Discount Is Unrealistically High<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

64% OFF<\/strong> from H&M via random text message? H&M is a major global retailer. They do not send unsolicited texts offering 64% discounts to random phone numbers. Their real promotions are typically 20-30% off and are advertise through official channels their app, website, and email subscribers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

H&M Does Not Send Messages Like This<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The real H&M website is www2.hm.com<\/strong> or hm.com<\/strong> not broken links merged with “hnorturl.at”. H&M communicates through their official app, verified email addresses, and their website. They do not send anonymous text messages with broken URLs and spelling errors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I Investigate Further<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I search for the hmn-644<\/strong> coupon code on the official H&M website at www2.hm.com<\/strong>. The code does not exist<\/strong>. There is no “hmn-644” promotion list anywhere on H&M’s official channels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The link in the message is design to look like H&M real domain but is actual broken and like redirects to a phishing site. Scammers are impersonating H&M<\/strong> to steal personal and payment information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Discount code is not valid”<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The coupon does not work<\/strong>. It is not a verify H&M discount code<\/strong>. This confirm the text message is fake and scammers are using H&M brand name to trick people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Do not click<\/strong> the broken URL in this message. It likely leads to a phishing site.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Do not use<\/strong> the hmn-644<\/strong> code. It’s not a real H&M coupon.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Do not trust<\/strong> texts claiming to be from major brands with broken links and typos.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Do verify<\/strong> H&M offers only through their official website www2.hm.com<\/strong> or the H&M app.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Delete<\/strong> the message immediately. Block<\/strong> the sender. Report<\/strong> as spam.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
